It is vital that one regulator be able to see the entire balance sheet of the country's largest financial institutions, and this regulator needs to cut across artificial institutional lines.Weill couldn't even see the entire balance sheet of his own financial institution back when he was running that monstrosity he called Citigroup.
(I wonder how many banks Weill bought while he was writing that op-ed. Three? Four?)
